Types of Therapy

Psychological therapy can help you explore any personal problems that you experience and examine alternative ways of dealing with them. We use a range of standard therapies to address problems, including:

The Therapy Process

The therapy process involves talking, thinking and doing. The psychologist may prompt you by asking questions and making observations. This will help you to develop a better understanding of your situation. Both you and your psychologist will work towards defining goals and solving problems.

You will be actively involved in all aspects of the process. The approaches used in therapy have been found to be effective for many different problems. Your psychologist will also discuss with you what you can expect from therapy.

How Long Will It Take?

Research has shown that this depends mostly on the problem and your motivation. The possible length of therapy will be discussed with you during the initial consultation. Sometimes one session will be enough, and at other times, several sessions may be needed.

Life & Executive Coaching

We offer a private and confidential service to support and facilitate your needs. Coaching is a collaborative solution-focused process, which can focus on any aspect of a person’s life in assisting personal growth. It does not seek to give people answers to their difficulties, but through working together with your coach, helps you find a way forward by reaching your own conclusions and solutions.

The ultimate goal of coaching is for you to become your own coach – to be able to use the skills you have learnt independently.

The number and length of sessions depends on the individual’s requirements. For example, one hour weekly sessions to work on an ongoing problem, or up to three hours, working intensively on an upcoming situation – for example, dealing with performance anxiety.

Intermittent booster sessions can be carried out, as well as telephone coaching, if face-to-face contact is not possible.

The coaching will be tailored to your particular needs. The process will involve talking, thinking, and doing. You will work towards defining your goals and defining steps towards achieving them.

Our Coaching

A private and confidential coaching psychology service and/or comprehensive stress management programme is offered and specifically tailored to support and facilitate your or your workplace’s difficulties and needs.

Leadership Coaching

Specialised leadership coaching focuses on key leadership skills and behaviours that are needed in order to excel at any level of the organisation, no matter what the size the organisation is. This may also include developing and building your levels of emotional intelligence (EQ). According to research, certain levels of EQ in the workplace are needed in order to be successful.

There are a certain number of dynamic emotions that set exceptional individuals apart and these are explored within the sessions as well as psychological building blocks that drive outstanding performance.

How Does Corporate Coaching Work

Coaching is a collaborative solution focussed, results orientated process in which the coach facilitates the enhancement of performance, self directed learning and growth of other individuals and groups. It has been found independently associated with reduction in work related stress and improved business performance and success?

Coaching involves a process in which the coach and ‘coachee’ develop a shared understanding of what constitutes success, what is happening now and what needs to happen.

Change will occur through goal directed conversation. Coaching will move you from awareness to responsibility into commitment, action and results! It will help you to change what is not working and to do more of what works.

How Many Sessions?

The number and length of sessions depends on the person’s or group’s requirements – 3 hour marathon session or weekly booster sessions. The coaching programme will be discussed and specifically tailored during an initial consultation.

We have coached within businesses and corporate settings. Along with a range of standardised coaching techniques, we use evidence based psychological strategies to facilitate change (cognitive behavioural-solution focussed).
