Dr. Michael Bristow MA MBBS FRCPsychAssociate
Michael trained on the rotational schemes at St Bartholomew’s and Charing Cross Hospital, including three years spent as a clinical lecturer in Charing Cross and extensive experience in Medical Liaison and Addiction work in both settings.

He was appointed Consultant in General Adult Psychiatry in Sutton in November 1993 and was in post for over ten years including five years spent as a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Psychiatry in St George’s Hospital Medical School. While there, he developed an interest in Psychopharmacology by taking the British Association of Psychopharmacology Certificate. He supervised one of the Regional Training Courses for junior psychiatrists for 7 years and has been an Examiner for both final exam medical students and psychiatrists in training.

Clinical Interests
In April 2004, Michael moved to the Private Sector on a full time basis working as a staff Consultant at the Priory Hospital in Woking, as well as working in London with a large Occupational Health Practice dealing with a number of City firms.

His clinical interests include the treatment of Addictions, Psychiatric aspects of physical illness, stress and anxiety, affective disorders and psychosis. He also does medicolegal work in personal injury, family and occupational fields.

He has published a number of papers on a variety of psychiatric topics. He was awarded Fellowship of the Royal College of Psychiatrists in 2008.
